What should we call you?

We use your first name to personalise the test and your report.

Choose which ESAT papers you are taking

You can choose one or more papers. The diagnostic will only include questions from the papers you select.

Calculator rule

Do not use a calculator. Calculators are not allowed in the ESAT, and this diagnostic uses the same rule. Use mental maths and rough working on paper only, so your result reflects real test conditions.

Timing and question structure

This diagnostic is deliberately time-pressured (1 minute 30 seconds per question) to expose gaps in knowledge and exam technique. The total number of questions depends on which ESAT papers you include below. You cannot go back to previous questions.

Each diagnostic test is designed to give an even spread across the specification, with the same number of questions from each topic.

Reflection after each question

After each question, you'll briefly reflect on your confidence level and what felt hardest. This helps identify which concepts and exam behaviours are most likely to improve your score.

Current diagnostic length: 32 questionsTimed estimate: 48 minutes
